You're showing your age here, I think. Most modern light sets don't blank out after a dead bulb. I still think it's funny, but the young'uns may not get the joke.

Guys this is basic electricity skills... a few time ago they were connected in series, that means that if one light went out the others after would go out as well.

And yes, technically they are right. You only have one line so they wouldn't stay lit and you'd have to have the beginning loop back to the end. You'd have to have at least 2 lines to keep all of them lit, most have 3 lines though. Setting that aside and enjoying the comic instead of fussing over small details like some people, great one!

Light travels at 3x10^8 Meters per second, a lot less than 1.22x10^3 meters per second.

I don't blame you for believing what you do. I'm guessing you had some high school physics, maybe a little technical physics in college. So, I wouldn't expect you to know about advanced neo-relativistic principles, such as implicit celerity multiplexing.
Implicit celerity multiplexing is a phenomenon whereby multiplexed bodies each achieve only a fraction of the speed of light relative to adjacent bodies, yet the relative velocity between the two extrema is the Euclidean sum of these velocities (projected upon a single axis, of course) which can exceed the speed of light. Of course, no one cares about this nowadays with entangled particles and tunneling, but it is noted in most modern advanced theoretical physics textbooks, and is an accepted edge case that can exceed the speed of light.
I do applaud you however for trying to educate some newbs on teh internets, impossible as this may be. Keep it real, Nye guy. (Love your programmes, BTW.)
