Contrary to popular belief, rulers were NOT meant to be broken.

Rules are mean to be broken as well as obeyed. Staples though can potentially help out and staple the ruler back together again.

it took reading the title in order to figure it out. i'm retarded. staplers don't have much in the way of options short of stapling things, so i never made the connection. 'staple the rulers' just wasn't funny. well, i guess it was, but there were no staples in the ruler, so i didn't laugh, because the...joke wasn't made.

Rules are meant for the guidance of wise (wo)men and the blind obedience of fools.
