I always wonder if in the original little red riding hood, the wolf actually ate and killed the people. They just cut the somach open and somehow everyone's alive. But I think the original they died. This is like one wikipedia search away but man am I thirsty.

Hey, I only recently discovered this comic and I really like it :) Btw the alt text seems wrong in this comic: "...and someone everyone's alive." I assume that's meant to be somehow?

i know one early version, it's in gaiman's "sandman: the doll's house":

the wolf killed the grandmother, took her blood and put it in a wine jug and sliced her flesh and put it in a plate. when red-hood arrived, he (dressed as grandmother) said "grandchild, drink some wine and eat some meat". and she did. then wolf said "grandchild, undress and come lay with me in my bed." the girl said "where do i put my clothes?" the wolf said " throw them in the fire, you won't need them anymore". and she did. when red hood got in bed she said "grandmother, what long ears you have." "they for listening to you", the wolf replied. "what long nails you have", said the girl. "they're for scratching myself", the wolf replied. "what big teeth you have", she said. "they're for eating you", he replied. and he ate her.
